Above is the first trial of the comic's application. Logan programmed this under my direction, using Unity. The sprite here is a sample - it is just to test if the page scrolling works. As you can see, the concept is actively functional, as when the sprite touches a side of the page, it moves the screen to the next. I am moving the character across the screen here by using the left and right arrow keys on the keyboard.
I can import my own animated sprite, as well as animated comic illustrations as the "backdrop." Audio can also be played. Although I did not record it, there is a main menu before you enter the comic like this. I have mentioned this menu and its features in a previous blog post. The borders around the outside of the box can be customised, but its pattern must be designed in "tiles" (for example - blocks on Super Mario). |
